BASICS
Decide where you will fit the BoltMaster units, the Control unit is typically fitted to the main entry / exit door.
| It is not recommended to fit the bolts here This is because there is not enough of a gap between the floor or ceiling and the door to get access for the drill and the drill bit without removing the door from the frame. Also the bolt units or the bolt cups can easily fill with debris or water and may cause poor system performance over time. |
| It is preferred that the bolts are fitted here The bolts will be horizontal and as such far less water and debris will work its way into the units. Also by simply opening the door there will be more than enough room to get the necessary access with a drill. |
Existing hardware
Make sure that the existing hardware will not interfere with the BoltMaster installation.
Make sure that the door and the frame are both checked for obstacles which could prevent the BoltMaster system from functioning properly.
